Any Electric forklift that is powered by a Lead Acid Forklift Battery needs to have a suitable Battery Charger in order to operate correctly. The standard rule of thumb is to supply a Charger that has a start charge rate of 1/8th or 15% of the overall AH Capacity (for example an 48v / 800ah Battery - 48v / 100amp Charger). If the Charger start rate is lower than this standard, this is fine, but please allow for longer required time to charge the Battery. It is important that the start rate of Charge is not above 20% of the Forklift Batteries overall capacity when used with a standard conventional Charger. This is to ensure that the internal heat inherently built up as part of the Battery charge process is controlled, overcharging the Battery can result in diminishing the life of the Battery over time.
